Kivunim is Progressive Judaism’s National B’nei Mitzvah Programme designed for children from small and medium sized communities – building strong year group cohorts and bringing fun, friendship and lifelong memories.

Kivunim is open to all members of participating Progressive (Liberal/Reform) communities. To apply for your child to take part, please click here.

The two-year programme has six main areas of focus explored over four incredible residential weekends:

  • Jewish identity (year 7)
  • Tikkun olam (year 7)
  • Community (ongoing)
  • Jewish ritual (ongoing)
  • Informed decision making (Year 8)
  • My life as a Jewish adult (Year 8)

Packed with RSY/LJY-Netzer style fun and learning, Kivunim is a wonderful chance to meet new friends and explore Judaism together – all culminating in a fantastic trip to a theme park to finish!

As one parent told us: “My girls have loved Kivunim and learned so much from it. It has really helped them on their Jewish journey, especially as we live in a very non-Jewish area. They have now Jewish friends all across the country – we have even gone up and down the motorway for each other’s simchas!”

This year, by coming together as one Movement for Progressive Judaism, we can support those taking part in a number of new and exciting ways:

Lower cost: The full programme will now cost just £640 for the whole two-year course and theme park celebration day!

Travel costs covered: The Movement will now be able to cover travel costs (mileage or train tickets) for families attending residential weekends. Logistics to be confirmed in advance.

Flexible payment plans: Families can split the fee into 2–4 monthly payments during registration.

New venue: We’ll be using an amazing new activity centre at Northamptonshire for our residentials.

Kivunim resource bank: We support Kivunim communities with a resource bank where you can find a full curriculum and ready-to-use peulot (session plans) for your community programming.
