Zac Bates Fisher has been appointed as the full-time Student Engagement Officer for Progressive Judaism, as we seek to expand and enrich our offering for students on university campuses across the country.
Zac is a member of Bromley Reform Synagogue and has just graduated from the University of Sheffield, where he was deeply involved in Jewish student life as Interfaith Officer and then President of the JSoc. He has also had an active role in UJS, organising and leading Progressive Shabbat services at the UJS Convention for the last three years.
He will be helping to further build Progressive Jewish Students’ unique identity and ensuring that Jewish student life is inclusive and cross-communal, while also working with our member communities to expand the support available to Progressive Jews at university.
Zac said: “My goal is that every single Jewish student knows what Progressive Judaism is all about, and that the one in four Jewish students who identify as Progressive Jews feel supported by us and the wider Jewish student world. I’m really excited to get stuck in!”
If you, or a family member, are at university please get in touch with Zac on ZacBF@progressivejudaism.org.uk.
