Liberal Judaism Chief Executive Officer Rabbi Charley Baginsky will take part in a Virtual Parliament Iftar event alongside other senior faith leaders and MPs.
Organised by the Dialogue Society, the event – entitled Rekindling the Community Spirit – will take place tomorrow (Thursday 22 April) from 7pm. It can be watched live on YouTube by clicking here.
Iftar is the meal eaten by Muslims to break their fast during Ramadan, the holy month in which Muslims devote themselves to their faith through observing fasts. It is a period of reflection and reaching out to those who may need support.
The Iftar organisers said: “Coming together for this event will allow bonds to be strengthened between individuals within inter-communities.
“We also hope to reassure those of all faiths and backgrounds who have faced challenges during this trying time that they are not alone.
“This is an opportunity to re-establish a sense of community despite the physical distance between us and will be a reminder that we are a part of something greater than ourselves.”
