Bristol Jewish West Purim Party

25 February 2020

Jewish West – the non-denominational social group for people in Bristol and surrounding areas – is planning its biggest event to date… a Purim Carnival!

Set up by Samuel Waite of Bristol & West Progressive Jewish Congregation and David Stillitz from the (Orthodox) Bristol Hebrew Congregation, the joint initiative was created to facilitate wider community co-operation and social integration in the area.

An initial event was held in August 2019, featuring live ladino music and amazing Israeli cuisine from Bristol’s Falafel King. It was a huge success and led to other similarly well-received events including a community picnic, magic night and Chanukah Party.

The Purim Carnival on March 10 is now set to be the biggest yet. It takes place at Alchemy, 198 Gloucester Road, BS7 8NU, and will feature a Tel Aviv style fancy dress competition, live music, a Purim disco and vegetarian buffet (provided by The Plastic Free Catering Company). There will also be a well-stocked bar for plenty of L’chaims!

Tickets are £7 and include the food and entertainment. They can be purchased from Eventbrite by clicking here.
