Meretz UK, in association with Progressive Judaism, invites you to an online discussion on Jewish Ethics and the Gaza Crisis tonight (Thursday 4 September) at 6pm. The panel will feature Progressive Judaism Co-Leads Rabbi Charley Baginsky and Rabbi Josh Levy, together with Rabbi David Rosen – the former Orthodox Chief Rabbi of Ireland, who is now based in Jerusalem.
The event will be introduced and hosted by Lawrence Joffe, Director of Meretz UK, and moderated by Alona Ferber, the British-Israeli Senior Editor of Prospect magazine.
The three rabbis will discuss a number of crucial and difficult questions around Jewish ethics in relation to the war in Gaza, settler violence, and the comments and actions of the Israeli Government. They will talk about whether calls for ‘Jewish unity’ are a justified response to the atrocities of October 7th or the stifling of an essential voice, and also ask how Jewish religious teachings can help extricate Israelis and Palestinians from this apparently never-ending crisis.
Admission is free. To take part please click here.
