Sir Keir Starmer MP visited Liberal Judaism’s head office, the Montagu Centre, to take part in an interfaith meeting on assisted dying.

Keir who represents the constituency of Holborn and St Pancras – in which the Montagu Centre is based – met a number of faith leaders including Rabbi Jonathan Romain of The Movement for Reform Judaism and Liberal Judaism’s Rabbi Dr David Goldberg (pictured).

He then addressed a meeting of the Interfaith Leaders for Dignity in Dying, which has more than 50 members and calls for a change in the law that would allow terminally ill, mentally competent, adults the choice of an assisted death.

Keir previously told The Times: “The law needs to be changed. The present guidelines have in-built limitations, which mean that there can be injustice in a number of cases.”
