Liberal Judaism The First Hundred Years

By Lawrence Rigal and Rosita Rosenberg

This book traces ten decades of the development and growth of Liberal Judaism’s development and growth of their ideals, tells the story of the Movement’s successes and failures, its individual congregations, its work in a number of fields – including liturgy, women’s roles, education and youth – and its key personalities. It deals with a number of controversial subjects, including the struggle for recognition in Anglo-Jewry, the relationship with Reform and Orthodox and, more recently, Masorti Judaism, and the changing attitude to Zionism.
