the first 50 years of our existence as a community in
our Shabbat service. When our Synagogue was founded in

The first Jewish marriage in Lincoln for 700 years
was conducted at Jews’ Court on Steep Hill. The
last Jewish wedding service was held in the 13th Century
before the Jewish community was expelled from the city

Michael Grade is an active Liberal Jew who belongs to

Jew has held such a uniquely important role within the

Judaism, has launched an exciting new initiative designed
to strengthen the link between Progressive communities
in Israel and the UK. ULPSNYC-Netzer is the only movement
to run this type of exchange programme in Britain prior

Pamela Fletcher Jones MBE
11/8/22 - 30/10/03
Born the daughter of a Fruit and Vegetable commission
agent in Covent Garden in 1922, Pam’s childhood
was marked by illness, in particular a bout of peritonitis,
which led to her not being able to have children in later
life, a source of great sadness to her and her husband.
Trained as a shorthand typist and also a nurse, Pam saw
war service in the RAF and then as a Naval nurse. |

The recently created Baroness Neuberger delivered
Liberal Judaism’s annual lecture at the Liberal
Synagogue, St Johns Wood. The lecture was entitled “The
Moral State we are in – why our sense to care for
