LJY-Netzer leader Lauren wins global student award

LJY Netzer’s Lauren Keiles won the Emerging Jewish Leadership Award at the annual World Union of Jewish Students (WUJS) ceremony.

Lauren picked up the coveted prize at the event, which was held on the final day of the WUJS Congress. She also picked up the Interfaith Award on behalf the Union of Jewish Students of the UK & Ireland.

As well as holding a leadership role in LJY-Netzer, Lauren is one of Liberal Judaism’s two delegates to the Board of Deputies and leads cheder classes at York Liberal Jewish Community.

The WUJS Awards honour all the people who have contributed and dedicated themselves to Jewish life on campus – celebrating how they make a positive and tangible impact.

More than 150 young adults from 36 different countries participated in the WUJS Congress, which took place in Jerusalem and tackled a wide range of issues from global antisemitism to recognition of the Armenian Genocide.
